WHEN TO PRAY PART 3 OF 5
Text- Ephesians 6:18
Introduction
Tonight we are going to continue with our study on the theme of prayer and consider what the Bible says concerning when we are to pray.
Within the Bible we find several references to prayer in relationship to time.
Sometimes it refers to the number of times people prayed.
Daniel 6:10, "Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his house (now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously."
Sometimes it refers to the time of day that people prayed.
Psalm 55:17, "Evening and morning and at noon, I will complain and murmur, And He will hear my voice."
Acts 3:1, "Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of prayer."
Another way that we find prayer referred to in the Bible in relationship to time is with reference to a person's circumstances or situation.
In our text Paul tells us, "With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,"
The Greek word that Paul uses in this verse for "times" is the word "Kairos" which refers to a limited period of time that is marked by characteristic circumstances.
As we consider the times of prayer tonight I would like us to look at what kind of circumstances and situations we are to pray in according to the Bible.
