SYMBOLS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT PART 2 OF 6

INTRODUCTION

Tonight we are going to continue our study on the topic of the Holy Spirit.

As we do this, I would like us to consider the symbols that are used in the Bible to represent the Holy Spirit.

In studying about these symbols of the Holy Spirit we need to be careful not to associate the symbol so closely with Him that we come to the conclusion that He is some kind of substance rather than a person.

These pictorial figures of speech used for the Holy Spirit are simply another way to help us understand who the Holy Spirit is.

Each symbol reveals to us a different dimension of the Holy Spirit as a person and His work and ministry in our lives.

In this lesson I would like us to consider seven symbols associated with the Holy Spirit.

Each of these falls into one of three different categories.
