What was once considered to be on the fringe of influence in today's society, the New Age Movement is now considered to be in the mainstream. In increasing numbers, middle class Americans are showing an interest in supernatural phenomena that blend eastern mysticism and western occult thinking into the New Age Movement.

In a society that is greatly influenced by materialism, rationalism and individualism and, as a result of millions who have become disenchanted with traditional Christianity, many people are looking for something new.
