HOW TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS
TEXT- MATTHEW 2:10-11
INTRODUCTION
Three men were waiting in a hospital maternity room. The first man paced back and forth anticipating the news that he was a father. About that time a nurse walked in and told him that his wife had given birth to twins. Amazed, the young man responded, “What do you think about that, I play for the Minnesota Twins.” As he was walking out another nurse came in and told the second man that his wife had given birth to triplets. Astounded, he responded, “What do you think about that? I work for the 3-M company.” About that time the third man got up, put on his coat and was about to walk out the door when the nurse asked him where he was going. “I’m going to find some place to lay down, “ He said, with a very shakey voice.” “Why is that?” asked the nurse. To which the man responded, “Because I work for seven-up!”
This morning as we consider what the Bible says in Matthew 2:10-11 about the birth of Jesus I’d like to speak to you about “How To Celebrate Christmas.”
While the birth of Jesus probably didn’t take place on December 25th, there is absolutely nothing wrong with celebrating the birth of Jesus.
In fact, everyday ought to be a celebration of the birth, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Within the Bible there are several groups of people who celebrated the birth of Jesus. There were the shepherds, the angels and the Magi to mention a few.
This morning I would like us to learn from the Magi three ways we can all celebrate the birth of Jesus this year.
