PART 6 WHO ARE THE TRIBULATION BELIEVERS REVELATION 7
Text - Revelation 7:1-17
INTRODUCTION
Chapter six is what many commentators refer to as a “parenthetical chapter.” A parenthetical statement is one that departs from a previously made statement.
In other words, the order of events that took place in chapter six were stopped and John then began to write about other events. He was talking about the seven seals, but after he finished telling us about how six of them were opened, he stopped and started talking about the events mentioned in chapter 7. In chapter 8 he will once again take up where he left off with the opening of the seventh seal.
Therefore, it is a good possibility that the events in chapter seven do not follow in chronological order between chapters six and eight.
If that is the case, when do the events in this chapter take place?
It is my opinion that some of the events take place either at the very beginning of the Tribulation period or just after the first 3 ½ years. The rest of the events in this chapter take place during the last 3 ½ years of the Tribulation.
At the end of chapter 6 in verse 11 a statement was made. It says:
Revelation 6:11 And there was given to each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should rest for a little while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed even as they had been, should be completed also.
Who shall be saved during the coming Tribulation period on earth? The Tribulation is coming in the end times, right before the end of the world. It is such a terrible time that the Bible says one-fourth of the earths population will die from war, pestilence, hunger or starvation. Given such horrific times, one might wonder if there is any hope. Is there a way people can be saved during the Tribulation period. The answer is yes.
Chapter six ended with a question:
Revelation 6:17 for the great day of their wrath has come; and who is able to stand?"
In chapter 7 we are given the answer to this question and learn about the tribulation believers. During the Tribulation there will be millions of people who will turn to Jesus. As a result, the Tribulation period will be the greatest revival earth has ever known. God never shuts the door to any who are willing to open their hearts to Him for salvation.
Romans 10:13 ...for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
Who are these people?
There are two distinct groups mentioned in this chapter. Let’s look at them and learn who is going to go through the Tribulation.
