HOW TO RESPOND TO GOD’S GRACE
Text- 1 Timothy 1:12-20
Introduction
This morning I am going to continue with my series of messages from the book of first timothy looking at what Paul said to Timothy concerning the Lord's Church.
In chapter one we have been looking at the message of the Lord's Church.
In verse 1-2 we learned that it is a message concerning Jesus as our savior, hope and Lord.
Last Sunday we learned that the message of the church was not about the bad news of the law, but rather about the good news of the Gospel.
This morning our text is found in 1 Timothy 1:12-20 and the title of my message is, "How To Respond To God’s Grace."
A captain made a very bad mistake and accidentally steered his ship in front of an aircraft carrier. Moments later a sailor came from the radio room to the bridge with a special message from the admiral. "Captain," reported the sailor. "I have a message from the admiral." "Read it." said the captain. "But, sir, it's to you personally." said the sailor. "I said read it to me!" ordered the Captain. The sailor read the message out loud, "of all the blundering, stupid, idiotic morons, you take the cake!" To which the Captain replied, "have that message decoded at once!"
As we look at what our text says about the church's message I would like us to consider five ways we all need to respond to the message God's grace.
