VICTORY THROUGH LITTLE Part 4 of 8

Text- Judges 7:1-8, 17, 21

Introduction

This morning is our theme day and I am preaching a series of sermons from the book of Judges on being victorious in life.

When the nation of Israel came into the promised land they were told by god to remove the other nations that were living there.

Unfortunately, they didn't listen to God and ended up compromising with these people.

In Judges 21:25 our theme verse says, "In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes."

As a result of not listening to god, Israel suffered one defeat after another.

So far Israel has had four judges and 46 years of captivity.

In Judges 6:1-2,6 it says, "Then the sons of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord gave them into the hands of Midian seven years. [2] and the power of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of Midian the sons of Israel made for themselves the dens which were in the mountains and the caves and the strongholds...[6] so Israel was brought very low because of Midian, and the sons of Israel cried to the Lord."

As a result, God raised up a fifth Judge named Gideon, to deliver Israel from the Midianites.

This morning our text is found in Judges 7:1-8, 17, 21 and the title of my message is, "Victory Through Little."

As we consider this passage I would like us to look at three ways to be victorious even when you think you lack the resources.
