Good morning everyone and welcome to The Bridge Church and our last service in 2007.  If you’ll get the white message notes out of your program we’ll get started.

During the past 6 weeks we’ve been in this series called, “Heroes - Ordinary People Living Extraordinary Lives.”  Today I’m going to conclude this series and the title of the message is, “To Be Continued.”

On the Heroes TV series, every week when it comes to the end of the show, they always put up on the screen, “To Be Continued...”  That means  means there’s something else to come.  While 2007 is going to end tomorrow, there is more to come in 2008.

The work we’ve been doing as a Church is to be continued in 2008.  God didn’t bring us this far just so we could set back and say, “We’re done.”  We’re not done, we’re just getting started and there’s a lot more that still needs to be accomplished for God.  Our church is still under construction.  It’s To Be Continued...

It’s like this fence behind me.  Have you ever been to a construction site that was all fenced in?  You couldn’t get in and it was blocking your view.  But along the way they’ve got these holes cut out so you can see some of the things that are going on.

Now some of you came to The Bridge in the very beginning.  You were looking through the first knot hole in the fence.  You saw the 10-25 people who came to my house to worship.  For many people that was very difficult to do, they didn’t like that.  That’s because they only saw what we were doing through this knot hole.

Some of you started coming to The Bridge when we started meeting at Edwards Theater.  You saw us locked out and having to set up out in front of the fountain.  You saw what we were doing through this knot hole.

Then some of you started coming to The Bridge Church when we had our grand opening at the Corona Library on Easter Sunday, 2005.  You saw the cramped rooms we were meeting in and how overcrowded it was.  You heard the children making all the noise in the room right next to us while we tried to worship God.  You watched as the homeless people came walking into our services.   You saw what we were doing through this knot hole.

Some of you started coming to The Bridge when we began meeting here at Centennial High School.  Maybe it was when we had our 40 Days of Purpose campaign.  You saw us develop our 5 purposes and begin to live them out.  You saw our church through this knot hole.

Some of you started coming to The Bridge when we had our 40 Days of Community Campaign.  You saw our church be a part of our community for the first time and experienced real community in our church through small groups.  You saw our church through this knot hole.

Some of you just recently started coming to our church when we had our 50 Days of Love Campaign.  You saw us learn the importance of love and how to love people through Acts of Random Kindness and various other projects.  You’re looking at our church today through this knot hole.

All of us came to The Bridge at various times and in various seasons of our life as well as our church life.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven.  (NLT)

At different times and seasons you hear and see different things about our church because your behind the fence. I need you to see above the fence line so you can get the entire picture of what we’re trying to accomplish and where we’re going.

Just for fun do you remember this guy?  “Hidee ho, neighbor.”  Sorry.   His name was  “Wilson” on the Home Improvement show.  Like “Wilson”, I’ve got to get you above the fence line, where you’re seeing the whole picture.  That’s what I want to talk about because this church is ...To Be Continued.

Over the past five weeks I’ve been talking about how to be an extraordinary Christian, But today, I want to share with you my heart and vision for The Bridge Church and help you see what an extraordinary church is like.  I want you to see what we’ve done and what still needs to be done in 2008 and in the years to come.
