HOW WISDOM GUIDES YOU PART 5
Text - Proverbs 2:10-22
Introduction
This morning I’m going to conclude with my series of messages from the book of Proverbs on the topic, “The Pathway To Wisdom.”
As we wrap this series up we are going to look at Proverbs 2:10-22 and learn “How Wisdom Guides You.”
What is the pathway wisdom takes to enter our lives?
In verse 10 Solomon says, “For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.”
First wisdom enters your ears. That takes place when we hear God’s word. Then it takes root in your soul or heart. Once that happens you will experience joy in your life.
Wisdom not only produces pleasure in your soul, but also protection in your life.
Walking down the street one day, a woman heard a voice yell, "Stop! If you take one more step, you will be killed." The woman stopped, and seconds later a brick fell and landed in her path. A minute later, she was ready to cross the street when the same voice bellowed, "Halt! Don't cross the street now." An out-of-control beer truck soon screeched around the corner and didn't even slowdown as it ran the red light. Shaken, the woman asked out loud, "Who are you?" "I am your guardian angel," replied the voice. "And I imagine you have some questions for me." "You bet I do," the woman said. "Where the heck were you on my wedding day?"
In verse 11 it says, “Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.”
Proverbs 4:5-6 Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them. 6Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you.
Proverbs 3:17 Wisdom can make your life pleasant and lead you safely through it. (TEV)
How do you follow the guidance of wisdom? How do you let it lead you so you can experience pleasure and protection in your life?
This morning we are going to look at three ways wisdom guides or leads you through life.
