HOW TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL MINISTRY

TEXT - 2 CORINTHIANS 2:12-17

INTRODUCTION

This morning I am going to continue with my series of sermons from the book of 2 Corinthians and our text is found in 2 Corinthians 2:12-17 and the title of my message is, “How To Have A Successful Ministry”.

The major theme of this book focuses on the topic of ministry.  When Paul wrote this letter to the church of Corinth he wanted them to understand his ministry.

When you compare Paul's ministry to the ministry of others within the Bible you will discover that it was very different.  His ministry was successful in all that he did for the Lord.  Paul was a winner not a loser.

A pastor was playing golf with one of his church members and the preacher was badly beaten.  On their way back to the clubhouse the church member noticed that the pastor was very depressed and decided to try to cheer him up. "Cheer up," said the member.  "Remember, you win eventually.  You'll be burying me someday."  "Yes," said the preacher.  "But even then it'll be your hole."

As we study the last few verses of this chapter I would like us to notice four things that characterize a successful ministry.
