HOW TO LIVE IN THE WORLD WITHOUT BEING OF THE WORLD

TEXT- 2 CORINTHIANS 6:14-18

INTRODUCTION

This morning our church is hosting its second multi-cultural service of the year.

As Pastors, both Brother Guerrero and I are proud of the fact that our church reflects the ethnic and cultural differences that are found in our community.

For some Christians and churches, it is difficult to understand these different cultural backgrounds.

A missionary was deep in the jungle where he came upon a native who was beating on a drum. "What are you doing?" asked the missionary. We don't have any water," explained the native. "I see," said the preacher.  "So you're asking your rain god for rain?" "No," said the native, "I'm sending for the plumber."

In spite of all our physical and cultural differences, the salvation that we have in Jesus and the teachings of the Bible unite us together into a spiritual family.

On Sunday mornings I have been preaching in the book of Second Corinthians on the things that should characterize the ministry of the Lord's church as well as those who are involved in her various ministries.

This morning I would like to continue that series.  Our text is found in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 and the title of my message is, "How To Live In The World Without Being Of The World."

As Christians and church members we should never allow our cultural differences to become a barrier and cause a separation between us.  Yet within the bible we are told to be separated from the world.

As we study this passage this morning Paul gives us two reasons why we can live our life differently for God as believers.
