THE CHANGES GOD CAN MAKE IN YOUR LIFE

Text - 2 Corinthians 7:8-12

Introduction

This morning we are going to continue with our study from the book of Second Corinthians.

As I mentioned last week, Paul is describing in chapter seven the joy that he had in his ministry.

Five times in this chapter he refers to the joy that he had in verses 4, 7, 9, 13, 16

Our text is found in 2 Corinthians 7:8-12 and the title of my message is, "The Changes God Can Make In Your Life."

A man was hired by a church to paint their building.  Soon into the job he realized that he would not have enough paint so he decided to add some thinner.  As the paint continued to run out, the painter added more and more thinner. The day after he finished the job a rainstorm washed away all the paint.  As the pastor stood looking at the paint running off the walls he turned to the painter and demanded that he "repaint and thin no more!"

One of the things that caused Paul to rejoice was that the church in Corinth had changed and repented of their sins.

Repeat after me, "repentance of sins brings joy."

Luke 15:7,10; "I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance...[10] "in the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

As we examine verses 8-12 I would like us to see four things I need to do if I want my life to be changed.
