THE GREATNESS OF SALVATION
Real Hope In Real Times - Part 4

Text- 1 Peter 1:10-12

Introduction

While fishing from a boat a man fell into a lake and was rescued by a friend.  The man's pastor suggested that he should give his friend at least twenty dollars for saving his life.  The man replied, "Could I make it ten dollars preacher?  After all, I was half dead when he pulled me out."

If you are a child of God, have accepted Jesus as your savior, and are saved, you know how valuable your salvation is.

It is worth more than all the money in the world, because we have been saved through the precious blood of Jesus.

1 Peter 1:18-19  knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.  (NASB)

So far in our study of the book of First Peter we have studied about the Christian's hope and the Christian's joy.

This morning our text is found in 1 Peter 1:10-12 and the title of my message is, "The Greatness of Salvation”.

As Peter wrote this book he wanted his readers to realize how great their salvation was so that they would have hope during the trials they were experiencing.

In our text Peter shows us that our salvation is great because it is of great interest to four different groups.

As we study this passage I would like us to notice four things regarding the greatness of salvation.
