HOW TO PRAY IN ANY SITUATION
Part 3 of 5
Jonah 2:1-10
Tonight I am going to continue with my series of messages from the book of Jonah on “Getting A Second Chance From God.”
A fisherman was telling a story about how he caught a twenty-five pound bass. His friend asked him if it put up much of a fight. To which the fisherman replied, “It sure did, but not as much as that ten pound grasshopper I used to catch it with.”
Last week we left off where Jonah was caught by a giant fish and he was the bait.
Our text tonight is found in Jonah 2:1-10 and the title of my message is, “How To Pray In Any Situation.” Throughout chapter one we saw how the sailors were constantly praying in the midst of the storm while Jonah never prayed once. But now while inside the belly of a fish we find Jonah praying to God.
Last week we learned that one of the reasons why God allows us to experience problems in our life is so we could learn some valuable lessons in life. It took Jonah 3 days and 3 nights before he learned those lessons. How long does it take you to learn what God wants you to do?
Maybe you are here tonight and you feel like Jonah. Are you in a situation where you feel trapped and alone? One of the worst things about being an atheist is not having anyone to talk to when you are alone. Do you feel like you just can’t escape from your problem? You long to get out of the fish’s belly of life but you just don’t know what to do.
REMEMBER: “CIRCUMSTANCES DO NOT MAKE YOU WHAT YOU ARE...THEY REVEAL WHAT YOU ARE!”
Here in our text we find four things that Jonah did in his prayer that will help you pray in any situation and find deliverance.
