HOW TO SHARE YOUR FAITH
Real Hope In Real Times Part 16
Text - 1 Peter 3:13-22
Introduction
Tonight I am going to continue with my series of messages from the Book of First Peter. Our text is found in 1 Peter 3:13-22 and the title of my message is, “How To Share Your Faith.”
The first Christians who ever lived didn’t have the things we have today in sharing our faith. They didn’t have bumper stickers, they didn’t have dove or Christian logos, they didn’t have any witness wear, no Christian T-shirts or no JC hats. They didn’t have any super pastors with TV, radio or tape ministries. They didn’t even have Gospel tracks. They didn’t even have the four spiritual laws book. They didn’t even have Bibles in motel rooms.
Yet amazingly, the Bible says that not every week, but every day people were giving their lives to God and being added to the church. How did they do that? They did it with the same kind of advertising we see today. It was through simple testimonials from satisfied Christians who went out and shared how their faith had changed their lives.
If you are a Christian and have ever felt inadequate to share your faith with others, if you have ever felt that feeling of guilt that comes over you when you didn’t use an opportunity God gave you, or if you are a non-Christian and have always wondered why some Christians are so passionate about sharing their faith with everyone else, then 1 Peter 3:18-22 is for you.
In this passage Peter gives us five essentials for sharing your faith and helping the hopeless. They are essential equipment for effective evangelism. They help us give real hope to the hopeless. These are five things we need to do in order to witness in ways that work.
As we look at these five essential elements I’d like you to consider someone you know who needs to know about Jesus. So, fill in this statement and put someone’s name in the blank.
I would like to share my faith with: (You Fill In The Blank)
The first essential in sharing my faith is...
