HOW TO LIVE THE ABUNDANT LIFE

Text- John 10:10

Introduction

This morning our text is found in John 10:10 and the title of my sermon is, "How To Live The Abundant Life".

John 10:10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”  (NASB)

Before we can understand how to have an abundant life we must first understand what an abundant life is.

Here in our text the word "abundantly" means, "to have over and above, to have an extraordinary life, or a better life".

Today throughout the world there are men and women everywhere who are tired of the monotony of this life and are looking for ways to make their lives better or more enjoyable.

Some turn to drugs thinking they will find the abundant life, only to realize that the drugs have destroyed their physical bodies and minds.  Others turn to recreational activities trying to have a better quality life, only to realize that they aren't enough.  These are just some of the ways in which people try to have an abundant life.

The problem though is that these are man's ways and not God's way to have an abundant life.

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.  (NIV)

Isaiah 55:8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.  (NIV)

This morning I’d like us to look at three ways the Bible says you can start living an abundant life right now.
