TURNING LITTLE INTO MUCH

Text- John 6:1-13

Introduction

In keeping with the theme of our time and talent commitment campaign that we are having this month I would like to draw your attention to our text in John 6:1-13

The title of my message this morning is, "Turning Little into Much".  In this passage of scripture we find the miracle about Jesus feeding over 5000 people with just five loaves of bread and two fish.

A Sunday School teacher asked little Mike to name his favorite miracle.  Mike replied, "I like the one where everybody loafs and fishes."

Today's story is the only event that happened in Jesus' life, apart from the last week of his life, that's recorded in all four Gospels. It's also a watershed moment in his life. Up until now, Jesus' popularity had been on the increase.

John 6:2 says, "And a huge crowd kept following him wherever he went, because they saw his miracles as he healed the sick."

After this event, his popularity took a nosedive.

John 6:66 says, "From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him." What we're about to read was a pretty significant incident in the ministry of Jesus.

That makes this story a pretty significant event in the life of Jesus and His disciples.  As we look at this passage, I’d like us to learn three ways Jesus can turn your little into much.  Let's examine this passage now and see what we can learn and apply to our own lives today.  In order for Jesus to turn my little into much...
