HOW TO WALK IN PURITY
Text- Ephesians 4:17-32
Introduction
As children of God we are different from the rest of the world and therefore we are to walk in a different way.
Romans 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. (NASB)
If we want to walk in purity then we must avoid walking like the rest of the world. The world can be very influential and hinder our walk as Christians.
Some people think that they are strong enough to withstand the world's temptations and still flirt with the things of the world.
There is a story told about a young couple who had a speaking parakeet. The only thing it could say was, "Let's neck!"
Their pastor heard about it and suggested that they put their bird in a cage with his parakeet which was able to say, "Let's pray."
After several weeks of being together in the same cage the couple's bird as usual said, "Let's neck," whereupon the preacher's bird replied, "My prayers have been answered!"
How do you remain pure in an impure world? How do you stay sound in an unsound world? How do you live morally in an immoral world? Especially when you're being bombarded constantly and everybody is saying, "Do your own thing. If it feels good, do it."
As we look at our text this morning I would like us to see two things that are brought out that will help us to walk in purity and not like the world. Let's look now and see how we are able to walk in purity.
