Introduction

Today I am going to finish my series of messages on "The Motives of a Child of God".

I pray that from this series that you have all learned what the right and the wrong kind of motives are.

By no means have we fully exhausted this subject, but the aim of these messages has been for all of us to become more aware of why we do the things that we do as children of God.

In almost any investigation that a detective does it usually takes many hours of questioning and hard work in order to get the answers that he is looking for.  For us to play detective and question ourselves as the suspect is very hard to do at times.

Let's face it, when we begin to really examine our spiritual lives closely, we find that there are many things we have done for the wrong reasons and what is even harder is to admit that our motives were wrong.

I pray that if you have learned anything from this series on the motives of a child of God, you have learned to be more careful in doing the things you do for the right reasons.

This morning we’re going to look at three more areas where we struggle with having the right motives.
