OUR ATTITUDE TOWARD EACH OTHER PART 2
Text- Philippians 4:2
Philippians 4:2 I encourage both Euodia and Syntyche to have the attitude the Lord wants them to have. (GW)
Introduction
This morning I am going to continue with my series of messages on the topic of “attitudes”. This morning I’d like us to consider what our attitude should be toward each other.
Here in verse 2 Paul points out a particular situation that existed within the church in Philippi. There were two women in the church who didn’t have the right kind of attitude toward each other. As a result, they were disrupting the peace and happiness of the church in Philippi.
When it comes to our relationship with each other the five most important words are: "I have confidence in you." The four most important words are: "What is your opinion?" The three most important words are: "If you please." The two most important words are: "Thank you." The most important word is: "We." The least important word is: "I.”
Attitude is sometimes heard, but more often then not it is something you can see. How many of you have ever seen someone who had an attitude towards you? Experts in human social behavior have coined the term "attitude signs." These are the unmistakable signals we all send out to tell others whether they can approach us or not. By our "body language" we either invite people to come to us or we drive them away. We might as well wear signs around our necks that announce in bold letters either "Welcome" or "Keep Out "; "Come Right In" or "Nobody Home ". The people around us are quick to catch our signals. They know if they're wanted or not.
What should our attitude be towards one another? To answer this question we need to turn to God's word. Within the Bible we are told and can see how we are to treat one another and how should even feel about one another.
What should be our attitude toward one another?
