DOING THE RIGHT THING

This summer we’re going verse-by-verse through the book of First John looking at “How To Live Confidently For God.” How many of you have been getting something from this study? This morning we’re going to look at 1 John 3:11-24 and the title of my message is, “Doing The Right Thing.”
Have you ever been faced with an important decision? Maybe it was a decision to change jobs, sell your house, have children, get married, have surgery or join a church. You prayed about it, asked for advice from others, searched the Bible and then made your decision.
Today we're faced with a lot of choices in life. Everywhere you look we’re flooded with options. The average grocery store carries 36,000 items. I read that Crest toothpaste company produces 36 varieties, shapes and flavors of Crest. I read that the Revlon company has 158 different colors of lipstick. The Levi corporation used to just produce jeans. They now produce, in sizes, shapes and colors and products, over 70,000 products. Just one company. Levi. They said "Our customers are used to choices." The problem with all of these options is that it can get very confusing. That's why we don't always understand the right thing to do.
So, how can you know with confidence that you’ve made the right choice and are doing the right thing?
