JESUS, LORD OF YOUR LIFE Part 2 of 11

TEXT- ROMANS 14:7-9

INTRODUCTION

This morning is theme day for our church and we are emphasizing the 1996 theme, which is, "The Lordship of Jesus."

A Christian woman was beginning to see signs of her old age because she was beginning to loose her memory. When she was young, she had memorized much of the bible and knew it by heart. But in her latter years only one verse stayed with her. It was 2 Timothy 1:12 which says, "For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day." Little by little even this verse began to slip from her memory and she would silently repeat, "...he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him..." Eventually, her health worsened and the doctor told her family that she didn't have long to live. As her loved-ones assembled together in her room waiting for her to go home to be with the lord they noticed her lips moving. Bending down low to listen to what she was saying they heard her repeating to herself the only word she could remember from the verse saying, "Him, Him, Him."

When Jesus is the lord of our life, we might forget everything else, but we never forget "Him."

This morning our text is found in Romans 14:7-9 and I would like us to consider four ways Jesus can become the lord of your life.
